MSK-IX takes part in the International Telecommunications Union regional forum
On June 4-6, the International Telecommunications Union held its regional forum, “The Internet of Things, communication networks and Big Data as the infrastructure foundation of a digital economy” in St. Petersburg. The event was organized by the union, Rostelecom and the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications.
On June 6, MSK-IX Technical Director Alexander Ilyuin presented a report on the universal IXP platform for mobile companies. Ilyuin shared his expertise in converting MSK-IX into a multi-service platform, presented the company’s products and spoke about solutions for mobile companies at the world’s largest traffic exchange points and the latest telecommunications technology.
“Our company has a lot expertise in working with mobile operators and telecommunications companies and tries to predict market trends. The QoS quality standards at traffic exchange points are in certain aspects higher than the GSM specifications,”Ilin noted.
The conference is a popular regional research forum as well as a dialogue platform for telecommunications researchers and experts.
The event focused on the latest technology news, the development of the digital economy in the region, the deployment of 5G and next generation networks, Big Data processing and management, the Internet of Things standards and the future of telecommunication networks. The program included experts’ reports, roundtables and research discussions.
