Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ conducted a series of lectures for MAI

On December 20 and 21, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, with support from the digital department and the MAI IT Center, conducted a series of lectures for MAI bachelor and master students on cybersecurity issues.

The DNS solutions architect at MSK-IX, Dmitry Kovalenko, was one of the series’ lecturers. He discussed the topic “Introduction to DNS: privacy issues.”

He taught the audience about RFC guidelines, the main components of DNS, and the tools that are used to resolve domain names on local, private and wide area networks, and he also offered an end-user perspective to understand how to improve privacy and security.

“I believe that these events, where representatives of the IT and telecom industry share their practical knowledge with students at Russian universities, are useful in training qualified specialists. Theoretical knowledge is very important, but lectures like these help a new generation of professionals understand how they will have to apply their skills in practice and how to navigate existing realities and future challenges,” Dmitry Kovalenko commented.

“This series of lectures from the Coordination Center ideally complements education programs for the study of computer networks, high-load internet services, and programming in general. Our students in the Informatics and Computing Machines program already have an appropriate level of training, so they not only had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills by learning from practicing experts, but were also able to share their opinions and experiences on certain issues. We plan to continue and expand our cooperation with the Coordination Center further,” said Pavel Keino, head of the Design of High-Load Internet Services, master’s program, Associate Professor at Moscow Aviation Institute.
