InData Foundation Director for Development Yelena Voronina wins Runet Prize 2023

Yelena Voronina received an honorary certificate for outstanding services and significant contribution to the development of Runet.

IT giants, as well as government, commercial and public organizations, startups, the media, and projects promoting a cultural and healthy lifestyle competed for award statuettes. A total of 685 applications were submitted, and 81 organizations and projects were named the winners.

At the awards ceremony, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko addressed the laureates and guests at Runet Prize 2023 with a welcome speech.

In the category, Top 10 Runet Personalities, the following people were recognized by the awards organizing committee:

• Alexey Rogdev, General Director of the Technical Center of Internet;
• Yelena Voronina, InData Foundation Director for Development;
• Artemy Lebedev, Artemy Lebedev Studio;
• Alexander Lyskov, Head of product development, Pochta Mail.ru;
• Andrei Kolesnikov, Director of the Internet of Things Association;
• Alexander Bolkhovityanov, GR Director for Search, Advertising and Geoservices at Yandex;
• Veronika Bodyul, Chief of Staff of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications;
• Olga Makarova, Director of the Resource Management Department, MTS;
• Andrey Zvonarenko, Director of the Operations Department, MegaFon;
• Pavel Gorchakov, Senior Project Manager, VimpelCom (Beeline brand).

Yelena Voronina graduated from Bauman Moscow State Technical University, with a degree in systems engineering and worked on digital computer system administration in the General School Laboratory of Digital Computers. She began her career in telecommunications in 1994 at Relcom. In 1999, Ms Voronina became deputy director of RosNIIROS and head of the MSK-IX project. In 2001-2022, she was General Director heading the development of the projects, “Russian traffic exchange point MSK-IX,” “Distributed DNS network for top-level domains,” and “Center for the interaction of computer networks MSK-IX.” In 2009-2019, she also served as technical director of the Technical Center ща Internet (TCI), developing the concept and building a system for registering top-level domains, including .РФ and .RU. In 2022, she became Director for Development at the InData Foundation.
