Belarusian premieres

Belarusfilm has introduced a diverse line of projects aimed at multiple audience segments. A standout title is the sports drama Turning Point, which follows a young rower whose athletic career is jeopardized by a serious injury. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in Russia in March 2026, with television and digital rights expected to become available in the second half of the year.

The animation catalog has been expanded with Song of Sirin, a project inspired by Slavic mythology. Streaming and platform rights for this film will open on January 1, 2026. Also joining the lineup is the social drama Classroom, which explores the professional path of a teacher; it will become available to TV channels in March 2026.

Festival cinema and sports from Kyrgyzstan

The State Cinema Center of Kyrgyzstan has announced a package of films scheduled for release in 2026. Among them is the absurdist comedy The Kyrgyz on Mars, which was selected for the 2025 Bishkek International Film Festival.

Program curators may also be drawn to hybrid historical and adventure projects such as Once Upon a Time in Samarkand, centered on the search for Amir Timur’s legendary treasure. Sports-related content includes the drama The Wrestler and the women’s hockey series Flowers on Ice, which premiered at the Kazan International Film Festival Golden Minbar.

Kazakhstani content at Mediabaza is represented by distributor Movie Service, which emphasizes a broad genre range, from the documentary series Vertical, dedicated to the achievements of the Barys Hockey Club, as well as large-scale historical action films such as Tomiris and Dawn of the Great Steppe.

To support seasonal programming around February 14 and March 8, Movie Service has also proposed a package of lyrical melodramas, including More Than Love and Bride for Rent. The catalog further features popular crime titles, such as the Racketeer duology and the thriller Three. According to the distributor, the company is actively seeking to expand cooperation not only with major platforms but also with regional television broadcasters.
