MSK-IX media platforms: An all-in-one solution from broadcast to digital revenue

In today’s landscape, it’s essential for regional broadcasters to have a presence across all digital platforms – from mobile apps to Smart TVs. But audience fragmentation and the technical complexity of online broadcasting often stand in the way. At the NAT Academy session, MSK-IX representatives showed how integrating the Medialogistika and Mediabaza platforms allows TV channels to offload technical tasks onto a reliable infrastructure and focus on creating content.
Grigory Kuzin, Director of MSK-IX Media Platforms, spoke about the company’s shift toward building a comprehensive industrial ecosystem:
“We’ve spent ten years developing Medialogistika as a signal delivery standard, but today that’s no longer enough. Now we have two platforms that support the entire video product lifecycle. Our goal is to make the interaction between channels and operators as transparent and digital as possible, eliminating any errors in licensing compliance and reporting.”
Andrei Budnikov, Head of Video Services for the Medialogistika project, discussed the technological possibilities for expanding reach. He emphasized the need for broadcasters to make a seamless transition to the online environment:
“Regional channels no longer need to worry about servers and broadcast protocols. We handle transcoding and signal delivery to the country’s largest OTT platforms with a single click. What’s more, the implementation of Server Side Ad Insertion technology allows channels to replace federal advertising in the online stream with their own regional ads, turning online views into real revenue.”
Sofya Pashuta, Development Manager for the Mediabaza project, detailed the platform’s capabilities as a one-stop marketplace, an all-in-one solution:
“Mediabaza offers regional broadcasters a two-way collaboration model. Channels can both select high-quality content for their schedules and act as suppliers. By placing their own programs on the Mediabaza Market, regional studios can scale their distribution and earn money selling rights to colleagues across the country. We’ve also automated the process – interaction within our digital environment enables fast and legally sound monetization of their archives.”
The NAT (National Association of Broadcasters) Academy is a series of annual training seminars for senior executives of regional and specialized television and radio companies, held since 2017.
