MKR-Media’s Prodvizheniye and TV BRICS channels are now to be found in the Medialogistika platform catalogue of terrestrial television broadcasts.

On May 17, 2021, the Medialogistika terrestrial broadcasting platform celebrated an anniversary, with the 1,500th television signal generated on the platform.

In April, the MSK-IX Computer Networks Interaction Center connected its internet exchange points in Rostov-on-Don and Moscow through a core network, thus improving network connectivity by adding the capital of Russia’s Southern Federal District.

MSK-IX Commercial Director Yevgeny Morozov was a key speaker at the Virtual Peering Series – Central Asia, the first event held by the Internet Society, RIPE NCC and Euro-IX. He talked about turning MSK-IX to a multiservice platform and pointed out the success of the IXaaS project.

Medialogistika Project Director Grigory Kuzin told regional television channels representatives how to cut back on expenses while transmitting top-quality signals to operators throughout Russia.

MSK-IX held “Time of Medialogistika”: a roundtable discussion with top managers from Russian media and telecommunications companies. The discussion was held as part of TeleMultiMedia Forum 2021’s business program. Participants talked about the main development trends in subscription-based television, and stressed the importance of cooperation between media and telecommunications companies.

On April 20, 2021, MSK-IX Co. will hold a roundtable discussion called Media Logistics Hour: Internet Era Television Channels, as part of the Tele Multi Media Forum conference.

Medialogistika has become a priority supplier to the operators of a new channel produced by Gazprom Media Entertainment Television (GPM RTV), as well as the HD versions of popular TV channels, which were previously offered in SD.

The Medialogistika terrestrial broadcasting platform has added two channels produced by V1 company to its line-up. The channels are now available to project partners for distribution on OTT platforms.

The project is being carried out in partnership with three companies: MSK-IX, Technical Center of Internet and Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.

Day two of the Medialogistika Days conference opened with remarks by Yana Belskaya (Cableman.ru), who offered the audience a look back on the very onset of the pandemic last year. She noted that television fared well during the lockdown. Television workers were in the spotlight because, on the one hand, the public was glued to screens and, on the other hand, there was an acute shortage of content to show. Sports channels suffered the most, considering their viewership centers on live broadcasts. Yana also commented on the relations between providers and TV companies. Just like desert creatures during a drought, they lent each other a helping hand and forgave late license fees. Online streaming services got a huge boost. According to 2020 figures, online streaming services attracted the most traffic. Yana noted an explosive surge in television viewership – in fact, news was even more popular than entertainment. The number of new channels launched last year is around the same as the number of channels that did not survive the pandemic.
